AI Title Suggestions is a new experimental feature for Day One. This feature uses AI to generate entry title suggestions based on the content of your entry.
This feature is exclusively available to users who have signed up through Day One Labs. Have questions? Check out the Day One AI FAQs.
How to Get Started
- Make sure you’ve signed up for Day One Labs using your active Day One user ID or account email address.
- Ensure you’ve updated to Day One iOS version 2025.13 or higher.
- Once you’ve signed up for Labs, open Day One and navigate to Settings > Labs.
- Turn on the toggles for AI Features and AI Title Suggestions.
- Start a new journal entry and start writing, or open an existing journal entry.
- Tap the three dot menu in the top toolbar.
- Tap Entry Title Suggestions.
- See options for titles for your entry.
- Tap your favorite title suggestion to make it the title of your journal entry.
- Make sure you’ve signed up for Day One Labs using your active Day One user ID or account email address.
- Ensure you’ve updated to Day One Android version 2025.16 or higher.
- Once you’ve signed up for Labs, open Day One and navigate to Settings > Labs.
- Turn on the toggles for AI Features and AI Title Suggestions.
- Create a new journal entry or open an existing journal entry with content you’ve written.
- With the cursor on the text, see the virtual keyboard toolbar with the AI icon (see blue arrow below). Tap on it to open the Journaling Tools menu.
- Tap Title Suggestions.
- Wait for the suggestions to appear, and then tap on any of them to insert them as your entry’s title.
- Tip: tap on the refresh button on the top-right corner of the bottom sheet to get a new set of suggestions!
