Introducing Prompt Packs: New Writing Inspiration in Day One

Prompt Packs offer a new way to bring focus, inspiration, and intention to your journaling.

Today we’re excited to introduce Prompt Packs in Day One, a new way for you to explore meaningful topics and keep your journaling habit going strong. We know one of the biggest challenges in journaling is simply knowing what to write about. Prompt Packs help remove that barrier by giving you a meaningful starting point each time you open Day One.

Prompt Packs are now available in Day One for iPhone and iPad (version 2025.17) and Day One for Android (version 2025.19). Coming soon to Day One for the web.

What are Prompt Packs?

Prompt Packs are themed collections of journaling prompts on topics like gratitude, reflection, mindfulness, creativity, and more. Each pack gives you a set of prompts you can answer, track your progress through, and assign to a specific journal. Prompt Packs provide a more guided journaling experience, so instead of facing a blank page, you’re invited to respond, reflect, and explore at your own pace.

What You Can Do with Prompt Packs

  • Browse a growing library of themed journal prompts.
  • Save favorites to your personal prompt library.
  • Track progress with a visual progress bar for each pack.
  • Assign Prompt Packs to specific journals for focused writing.

Fresh Prompt Packs, Added Regularly

We’ll continue releasing new themed Prompt Packs each month, so you’ll always have fresh ideas to explore and new ways to keep your journaling practice engaging. Each new pack introduces thoughtful prompts designed to spark reflection, inspire creativity, and encourage meaningful writing.

Language Availability

Prompt Packs are currently available in English only. They’re automatically enabled on devices set to English. If your device is set to another language, you can still try Prompt Packs today by toggling them on in Settings > Prompt Packs.
