The Day One web app now includes new ways to move entries between journals. This is useful if you start an entry in one journal but later realize it belongs in another. With these options, you can seamlessly organize your thoughts and memories in the journal that best reflects their context. Whether you’re re-categorizing entries or refining your journaling structure, this update simplifies the process of keeping everything where it belongs.
New Move Option
Within an entry, you can now use the three-dot menu at the top of the entry to select the new Move option. From there, you can select the new destination journal.
Drag & Drop
As an alternative to the Entry menu, we can easily Drag & Drop an Entry to the destination Journal. This will start the same Entry Move action as the Entry menu, making it even faster to move Entries. Simply select the entry you wish to move, and then drag it into the destination journal in the sidebar menu.
Multiple Entry Selection & Bulk Moves
Need to organize several entries at once? With our new multi-select feature, you can choose multiple entries using cmd + click or shift + click for a flexible and efficient way to organize your journal. Once selected, entries can be previewed in the right panel, showing a snapshot of their content along with the date range and total count of selected entries.
When moving multiple entries, a counter will display the number of entries being transferred, and the entries will remain highlighted after the move, ensuring you don’t lose track. This streamlined process allows you to re-categorize large sets of memories quickly and intuitively.
