Now you can take a trip down memory lane by revisiting past entries from this same day in previous years. Whether you’re rediscovering forgotten moments or reflecting on how far you’ve come, On This Day is your personal time capsule, now accessible from any browser.
How to get started:
- Log in to Day One on the web. You can use the QR code to quickly log in and securely transfer your encryption key from your mobile device.

- You’ll see a new Today tab. Click the On This Day button to reveal your entries. Here, you can scroll through entries from past years in reverse-chronological order.

Whether you’re looking for inspiration, reflection, or just a dose of nostalgia, On This Day makes your past part of your present — now, anywhere you log in.
More Updates for the Web
Alongside On This Day, we’ve made a few other improvements to the web app lately:
- Automatically include location and weather for new entries – When you create a new entry on the web, you can now include your current location and local weather. These small details help paint a fuller picture of your day and add valuable context to your journal.
- Internationalization support – Day One on the web is now available in more languages, making journaling more accessible to our global community. Whether you’re journaling in English, Spanish, French, Japanese, or beyond, the web app will feel more natural and familiar.
