AI Multi Entry Summary
AI Multi-Entry Summary is a new experimental feature for Day One. Use multiple entries to generate a single, cohesive summary of your journal entries.
This feature is exclusively available to users who have enabled or signed up through Day One Labs. Have questions? Check out the Day One AI FAQs.
How to Get Started
iOS
- Ensure you’ve updated to Day One Android version 2025.14 or higher.
- Open Day One and navigate to Profile > Settings > Labs.
- Turn on the toggles for AI Features and AI Multi Entry Summary.
- From the Journals tab, navigate to a journal or the All Entries view.
- Tap the List view.
- Swipe left on an entry in the list to reveal the Select option.
- Select the entries you’d like to summarize by tapping them.
- In the top toolbar, tap the # Selected option.
- In the multi entry view, tap the “Generate Summary” option at the top.
- A summary of the entries will be displayed. Tap the copy option to paste it into an entry or Save to New Entry.
Android
On Android, AI Multi Entry Summary is available using the Calendar view or On This Day view.
- Make sure you’ve enabled or signed up for Day One Labs using your active Day One user ID or account email address.
- Ensure you’ve updated to Day One Android version 2025.12 or higher.
- Once you’ve signed up for Labs, open Day One and navigate to Settings > Labs.
- Turn on the toggles for AI Features and AI Multi Entry Summary.
- The AI Multi Entry Summary feature can be accessed either from the Calendar view or from the On This Day view.
- Select a date, then tap Generate Reflection.
- A summary will then be generated from all the entries for the date.
- You can then copy the entry summary to add to a journal entry, or tap Save to New Entry to create a new journal entry from the summary.
