Backing up Day One data to iCloud
Backing up Day One data to iCloud Device backups
Backing up your data to iCloud is one of many backup methods you can use on iOS. Check out this guide to learn more about other backup methods
Include Day One in your iCloud backups on iOS
Day One data can be included in iCloud device backups on all iOS devices. This is automatically enabled when you install Day One and have iCloud Drive enabled and iCloud device backups. Follow these steps:
- On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Storage > Backups > tap your current device.
- Turn on Day One in the list of apps.
- Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > iCloud Backup and tap Back Up Now.
This will include Day One data in iCloud device backups. For more information about how iCloud backups work, see: https://support.apple.com/en-us/108771.

Turn off iCloud backups and delete backed up Day One data
If you no longer want Day One data included in your iCloud device backups, you can turn it off. This will also delete any currently backed up Day One data from iCloud.
- On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Storage > Backups > tap your current device.
- Turn off Day One in the list of apps.
- Tap Turn Off to confirm.
This stops future iCloud backups from including Day One data and removes any existing Day One backup data from iCloud.
Steps to restore from an iCloud backup
If you ever need to replace or restore your iOS device, you can restore from the latest iCloud Device backup and recover your Day One data. This method restores your entire device. Data will be restored from the most recent device backup stored in iCloud.
