Enabling App Notifications
iOS
- Open Settings.
- Tap Notifications.
- Scroll down and select your app name.
- Toggle Allow Notifications → ON (green).
- Choose your preferred alert style: Lock Screen, Notification Center, and/or Banners
- (Optional) Enable:
- Sounds
- Badges
- Show Previews (e.g., “Always” or “When Unlocked”)
macOS
- Click the Apple menu → System Settings.
- Select Notifications & Focus (macOS Ventura and later) or Notifications (on older versions).
- Scroll to find your app name.
- Toggle Allow Notifications → ON.
- Customize options:
- Alert Style: None / Banners / Alerts
- Badge App Icon
- Play Sound for Notifications
- Show Previews → “Always” recommended
Android
Steps will vary slightly by device manufacturer (Samsung, Pixel, etc.).
- Open Settings.
- Tap Notifications (sometimes under Apps & Notifications).
- Choose App Notifications or See all apps.
- Find and select your app name.
- Turn Allow Notifications → ON.
- (Optional) Manage notification categories:
- General notifications
- Reminders
- Messages
- Toggle individual types ON as needed.
Windows
- Open Settings → System → Notifications.
- Ensure Notifications are On globally.
- Scroll down to Get notifications from these apps.
- Find your app name and toggle On.
- Click the app name for more options:
- Show notification banners
- Show notifications in Action Center
- Play a sound when a notification arrives
