Creating journals in Day One for iOS
How to create additional journals in Day One on iOS
Since v.2052.11, all users can now create unlimited journals. Whether you’re on the free plan or Premium, you can now create as many personal and shared journals as you’d like.
How to create a new journal
Create a new journal from the left sidebar
Swipe from left to right on the List screen to access the Journal Drawer. Tap + Add button in the top-right corner. Tap Edit to reveal Journal Settings (three dots) or to move the journal orders (long-press on the three-horizontal bars).
Create a new journal from Settings
Alternatively, tap the profile icon at the top-right corner of the screen, then tap Journals. Scroll down to find options for creating a new Personal Journal or Shared Journal.
Configuring the new journal
You can name the journal, choose a color, or choose the type of this journal (Shared vs. Personal).
Encryption
End-to-end encryption utilizes a private key to encrypt all data before it reaches the server. The server will have no access to unencrypted data. We recommend that users save a copy of the encryption key. If users lose their encryption key and access to Day One, encrypted data may not be recoverable.
If you create a journal from the journal settings, you can choose the advanced option to change that to Standard. To do so , you can navigate to Day One > Settings (Profile icon) > Journals > New Personal Journal > Advanced > Toggle off End-to-End encryption.
