Location History

Enabling location history in Day One.

Enabling Location History allows users to track their locations in Day One and use those to create entries or to add to entries to enhance the metadata details.

Please know that privacy is one of our key principles, and we recognize that your Location History is none of our business. Your Location History is never shared with Day One servers or employees; only you have access to it.

iOS

To add this feature on your iOS device, go to Day One > Settings > Location History. This setting uses the location data your device is already tracking so it does not add impact to battery life.

Additionally, we have added an “Auto-apply Point of Interest” feature, that will be applied to visits found in location history. This feature is enabled by default if you enable Location History. To disable it, visit Settings > Location History and switch the “Auto-apply Point of Interest” toggle to off.

macOS

Location History is not available in macOS. However, you can activate the options for “Auto Add Location”, and “Auto-apply Point of Interest”. Go to Settings > General, then click the check boxes to activate.

Location History is not available on the Web app, Windows app, or on the Android app.
