System Requirements for Day One
This page lists the minimum operating system versions required to run the current version of Day One.
Keeping Day One Up to Date (outdated version, old version, need to update)
Day One uses year-based version numbering. Current versions follow the format 2025.x or 2026.x (for example, 2026.5 or 2026.6).
Important: If your Day One version number is a single or double digit (such as version 7.x, 8.x, or 10.x), your app is significantly outdated. These older versions are no longer supported and may have bugs, crashes, and missing features that have already been fixed. You should update to the latest version from your app store immediately before attempting any troubleshooting.
To update Day One:
- Mac: Check for updates in the Mac App Store
- iOS/iPadOS: Check for updates in the App Store
- Android: Check for updates in the Google Play Store
- Windows: Check for updates in the Microsoft Store
You can find your current version number in Day One under Settings > About. If your version number is not in the year-based format (2026.x or later), your app needs to be updated.
