Importing Data to Day One

Day One supports different file options for import in our apps including CSV, JSON, Plain Text, Journey, Diaro, and Day One Classic

Day One has different importing options for our apps on iOS, macOS, Android. In order to be successful the data in the file you are importing must match what Day One expects. Because of the different export options from other sources, you may have to manually edit the file before importing to Day One to accomplish this.

Follow the links on each file type to see more details on how to successfully import it. If you do not see an import method listed here then we aren’t currently able to support it. It’s worth checking with your current Journaling app about which exports they offer to see if it matches what we offer for import processes.
