Go Deeper

Go Deeper is a new experimental feature for Day One. This feature uses AI to generate personalized and dynamic prompts in the editor based on what you’ve written, helping you reflect further and uncover new insights.

Go Deeper is exclusively available to users who have enabled or signed up through Day One Labs. Have questions? Check out the Day One AI FAQs.

How to Get Started

iOS

1. Make sure you’ve enabled or signed up for Day One Labs using your active Day One user ID or account email address.
2. Ensure you’ve updated to Day One iOS version 2025.4 or higher
3. In Day One, navigate to Settings > Labs.
4. Turn on the toggles for AI Features and Go Deeper.
5. Start a new journal entry and start writing (the more you write, the more tailored and insightful the prompts will become!)
6. Once you’ve written something in the entry, you’ll see the new Go Deeper option in the entry editor
7. Tap Go Deeper to generate dynamic prompts based on your writing.
8. Tap any prompt to insert it into your entry so you can continue journaling.
9. At any point, you can return to Settings > Day One Labs and toggle off the feature if you no longer wish to use Go Deeper.

Android

1. Make sure you’ve enabled or signed up for Day One Labs using your active Day One user ID or account email address.
2. Ensure you’ve updated to Day One Android version 2025.12 or higher
3. In Day One, navigate to Settings > Labs.
4. Turn on the toggles for AI Features and AI Go Deeper.
5. Start a new journal entry and start writing (the more you write, the more tailored and insightful the prompts will become!)
6. Once you’ve written something in the entry, you’ll see the new Writing Prompts option in the entry editor above the keyboard.
7. Tap “Writing Prompts” to generate dynamic prompts based on your writing.
8. Tap any prompt to insert it into your entry so you can continue journaling.
9. At any point, you can return to Settings > Day One Labs and toggle off the feature if you no longer wish to use Go Deeper.

Web

1. Make sure you’ve enabled or signed up for Day One Labs using your active Day One user ID or account email address.
2. Login to Day One on the web. (Try how easy it is to login with a QR code!)
3. Navigate to Settings > Labs.
4. Turn on the toggles for AI Features and Go Deeper.
5. Start a new journal entry and start writing (the more you write, the more tailored and insightful the prompts will become!)
6. Once you’ve written something in the entry, you’ll see the new Go Deeper option appear below.
7. Click Go Deeper Prompts to generate dynamic prompts based on your writing.
8. Tap any prompt to insert it into your entry so you can continue journaling.
9. At any point, you can return to Settings > Day One Labs and toggle off the feature if you no longer wish to use Go Deeper.

Windows

1. Make sure you’ve enabled or signed up for Day One Labs using your active Day One user ID or account email address.
2. From the Day One Windows app, navigate to Settings > Labs.
3. Turn on the toggles for AI Features and Go Deeper.

6. Click Go Deeper Prompts to generate dynamic prompts based on your writing.
7. Tap any prompt to insert it into your entry so you can continue journaling.
