To try these new features, update to Day One for iPhone and iPad (version 2025.19) on compatible devices running iOS 26.
New: iOS 26 Updates to the User Interface with Liquid Glass
Day One’s interface on iOS 26 now features Liquid Glass design elements, bringing a subtle depth and fluid feel to your journaling experience. This update refreshes Day One’s look while keeping the focus on your writing.
Here’s what you’ll notice in this release:
- The lower navigations bar’s tabs for Journals, Prompts, and More have been updated with clear glass for a more transparent, seamless feel.
- The “+” composer button now uses the tinted glass treatment for a lighter, more fluid look.

Stay tuned as more refinements are planned in upcoming releases as we continue adopting Liquid Glass across the app.
New: Apple Intelligence On-Device AI Features
Apple Intelligence is now available in Day One, bringing on-device AI features designed for journaling. These features are using the Foundation Models framework which taps into the on-device model at the core of Apple Intelligence, so all processing happens privately and securely on your device. Your journal entries never leave your iPhone or iPad, and everything works offline.
New features in the editor:
- Go Deeper Prompts: Dynamic prompts appear based on what you’ve written, helping you reflect further.
- Entry Title Suggestions: Generate contextual titles from your writing, making it easier to name entries.
- Entry Highlights: Create a concise bulleted list of key points from your entry to revisit later.

How to get started:
- Check that you have a compatible device.
- Update to iOS 26 and Day One version 2025.19.
- Open any entry and begin writing, or open any existing entry you’ve already written.
- Tap the Apple Intelligence icon in the lower toolbar in the entry editor.
- Choose from Go Deeper Prompts, Title Suggestions, or Entry Highlights.
- Opt in the first time you use it (you can always manage Apple Intelligence settings in Day One anytime under Settings > Apple Intelligence).

Notes for Labs Users
In this release, a few things have been added and changed for Day One Labs users.
- We’ve added a new Strava integration in Labs to automatically import your Strava activities as journal entries into Day One. We’ll be opening up the Strava feature to more Labs users in the coming weeks, so be sure to tap the “Notify Me” option for updates.

- Entry Summary has been replaced with Entry Highlights in version 2025.19. If you had previously enabled Entry Summary enabled in Labs, you’ll need to re-enable the new Entry Highlights. Entry Highlights appear as a bulleted list for easier scanning.
